Pacific NW Giant Foxglove Mix 20,000 Seeds Digitalis Purpurea *Shelley

Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) Pacific Northwest Giant Mix Grown in my Garden and in the woods around my home! 100% organic I normally sell my poppy seeds, and in some of the photos the foxglove are also blooming and people have asked me to sell them as well, so here goes. Giant Stately Flower spikes Thousands of seeds! The seeds are freshly harvested from this summer’sflowers. They were freshly harvested! You can’t get them any fresher than this. Primarily purples and whites Here they are growing with some poppies. This area is mostly in the shade Random Pictures from my Garden Great for Fresh Floral arrangements on a Gigantic Scale! They look fabulous when paired with the giant Calla Lilies Some of mine grow 10 feet tall! They start opening at the bottom and work their way up. The best time for cutting is when they are in bloom about half way up the spike. What is nice, is that they can keep for a couple of weeks in a vase. What you do is keep shortening the stem, and removing the spent flowers. The time to plant is NOW Foxglove is technically a biennial, meaning that it sends up leaves one year and then the flower spike the next year. I really don’t notice this type of growth behavior because once I introduced foxglove to my garden, they just grow and grow and bloom and bloom. I often have way too many and will dig them up. The photo below is also in full sun and shows the foxglove mixed in with my other flowers They have been coming back as gorgeous as the year before, year after year! The technical stuff found on the internet: Foxglove Digitalis purpurea One of the loveliest, most important plant species that has been introduced from Europe and naturalized in various parts of North America. The flowers are numerous, on a spike, and range from a deep purple to lilac with conspicuous spots interlining the throat of the tubular flower. As a biennial, the leaves form a rosette the first year followed by the flower spike the next year. Prefers a nitrogen-rich sandy loam soil, in partial sun to full shade. Height: 2-8 feet Germination: 20-30 days Optimum soil temperature for germination: 60-65F Sowing depth: Surface Sow Blooming period: June-September Average seeds per pound: 4,360,000 Suggested use: Shaded areas, wildflower mixes, waste places. Miscellaneous: Foxglove is a source of digitalis prescribed by doctors to strengthen the heart and regulate its beat. Extremely poisonous! Enjoy, but do not eat!. My seeds are home grown. All of the photos are of my garden. I do not live on a growing farm or any farm for that matter. I live in a house in the Woods where Foxglove grow naturally and abundantly. You do not need to live in the country or in the woods to grow foxglove This auction is for a mixed bag of seeds. The seeds germinate freely and you will never have to buy them again. To extend the bloom time, once the flowers are spent, or almost spent, cut the flower spike off to the ground. Then your plant will send up several side shoots with small yet just a lovely spikes. You can then let these go to seed. Naturally resistant to Predators. Deer proof. Germination testing on this years seeds are 95% . The problem with this is that you will have thousands of microscopic plants that a some point should be thinned. The best way to remedy this is to mix your seeds with sand and then sprinkle on the soil like Salt. I will send 1/2 teaspoon which is probably 50 thousand seeds, but I really have no idea. I am selling them by the 1/2 teaspoon, not by seed count. Obviously I’m not counting them, but you can if you want. (If you do count them, could you let me know so I can put the correct seed count on my auction 🙂 The seeds are practically microscopic and are impossible to count. I have NO idea how some people sell 50 or 100 seeds. Shipping: Buyer pays shipping. Each additional pack is .50 cents I do NOT make money on shipping! I use only padded bubble mailers with additional stuffing and send them as a parcel.Seeds are stored in Glass containers or in their pods until I ship. At that time I put them in a small plastic bag.If they are not to be planted immediately, then remove them from the bag and store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container.NOTE: I use the plastic bags because of past complaints with the paper envelopes that just do not seal all the way. International Buyers – Please Note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. It is the buyers responsibility to know if the item purchased is legal to import to your country. Many countries regulate the importation of flower seeds and plants. So make SURE before you buy! My seeds are guaranteed to be viable. They are easy to grow, however Your results could vary Shelley’s Poppy Planting Guide Please, If you plan to buy my seeds to re-sell, I respectfully request that you do NOT use my photos, my names, my descriptions, my backgrounds or my planting instructions to do so. It against eBay policy and will be enforced. I hate to put warnings like this and aplogize, but unfortunately I have had to put this disclaimer on my auctions as several so called “seed sellers” have started doing this.
