Calochortus coeruleus, commonly known as the blue star tulip, is a delicate and rare bulbous perennial native to the oak woodlands and grassy slopes of California. Calochortus coeruleus thrives in well-drained, sandy or rocky soils and prefers full sun to light dappled shade.
