It’s a quite slow-growing form of the species, but what it lacks in speed, it makes up for in sturdiness and cold-hardiness. Probably only exceeded by Rhapidophyllum hystrix in that aspect. This form never gets very large either, so you don’t have to worry about it forming a trunk and outgrowing its spot.

The ones in my pictures were planted in the late 1990s as tiny seedlings. It differs from most other forms of Sabal minor in its sheer size, only coming in second to Sabal minor var. louisiana in overall size.
