Korean Evodia | Bee-Bee Tree (Tetradium daniellii) Honeybees & Apiarists delight

Check out my other garden delights! Apiarists, homesteaders, and gardeners will definitely find something of interest! Taxonomic Information: Genus: Tetradium Species: daniellii Synonyms: Tetradium daniellii var. hupehensis, Euodia hupehensis Common Names: Korean Evodia, Evodia Tree, Bee-Bee Tree Description: You see the pictures of the little Evodia seedlings! Makes you wonder why other people do not have pictures of their seeds germinating! Hmmmm… On to the tree: If you are looking at this listing, you probably already know that this is one of the top 5 honeybee/pollinator trees IN THE WORLD for temperate climates. It blooms when there is normally a dearth of nectar. Pollinators absolutely adore it! I agree with tree expert Michael Dirr: Korean Evodia is an underutilized tree that is a real gem! What is Included: Please select from the drop-down menu above. Choose the quantity of seeds you would like to receive. Planting Instructions: After the nights no longer dip into the 40s, plant the seeds in the ground (unless you are starting them indoors, which you really should be doing). No extra treatment is required, though soaking them in water overnight seems to speed up germination by a few days. I plant them about 1/8th of an inch deep in seed starting mix. I would only recommend germinating them indoors in a climate controlled environment if you want maximum germination. As you can see in one of the pictures, I germinated many of them in an old plastic salad container. You can use a propogation dome, or any improvised container. You basically want to make a warm, moist miniature greenhouse for the seedlings’ environment.
