Silene rubella subsp. rubella comes from the family Caryophyllaceae and some common names are Sweet William Catchfly, None-so-Pretty, and Campion. Europe is it’s native home but has become quite popular in the U.S. This Perennial stands around 18″ tall and 10″ wide. Blooms from late Spring to early Summer. Perennial in Zones 5 to 8. Annual Germination Direct sow by pressing seeds into the surface of the soil and lightly cover with a medium.  Place trays in a bright spot. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which usually occurs within 2-4 weeks.
