2000 Maiden Pinks Wildflower Seeds – Everwilde Farms Mylar Seed Packet

XL Mylar Packet – Maiden Pinks SeedsGold Vault Mylar Zip Packet Greek botanist Theophrastus gave these flowers the genus name Dianthus, which means “divine flower.” The common name of “pink” comes from the Old English word “pynken,” meaning to cut or notch, in reference to the distinctive jagged edges of the petals. Actually, this family of flowers brought about the use of the word “pink” to describe a color. Direct sow the seed after the last spring frost, planting it just below the surface and compacting the soil slightly. To start the seed indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost of spring, sow just below the surface of a flat; compress the soil slightly and keep it consistently moist. Keep the temperature at 60 degrees F until germination, which should take place within 14-20 days. Thin or transplant the seedlings. These seeds are non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms), and are also free from all Neonicotinoids. They are packaged in our superb Gold Mylar Mylar Zip Packaging, which gives the seeds the best storage possible, and allows you to reseal the bag for later use. The artwork and labels on the packet are loaded with information – many people comment that it is the most beautiful packet that they have ever seen. 50 Viola Brush Strokes seeds

This listing is for a package of 50 Viola Brush Strokes seeds. Aka pansy. Aka Johnny Jump-up. Hardy Annual. Sun to partial shade. Prefers cooler temperatures. Plants readily re-seed to produce next years plants/blooms (zone dependent) Blooms look like cheerful little faces in shades of gold, apricot, peach, plum, lavender, purple and cream. Vigorous plants all have very unique variations in color and pattern. This variety is not the typical tight mounds and can be used as cut flowers if grown closely. This will help blooms reach upward and produce longer sturdier stems around 12″-16″. Bloom size is approximately 1 1/2″ – 2 1/2″. Blossoms are edible with a hint of wintergreen flavor and have a sweet fragrance. Can be used to garnish, in salads or used in desserts. To transplant sow seed 8-10 weeks before your regions last frost date. Cover seeds and water from bottom to avoid displacing the small seed. *Even though seeds are small they need to be planted at 1/8″- 1/4″ depth as they need darkness for germination* Germinate in soil temperatures around 65. Ensure good bright light available so the starts do not get leggy before transplanting outdoors occurs. Always harden off starts for a few days increasing exposure time. Then transplant into desired location in garden beds or containers. Looks amazing when planted in mass! Height 8″-16″ Spacing 6″-9″ Please let us know if you have planting or growing questions.
