Solidago Nemoralis

Old Field Goldenrod Seeds for Planting (50 Seeds) – Solidago nemoralis

This is an excellent plant for a difficult spot where little else will grow. Old Field Goldenrod likes full sun and dry soil, even poor, rocky, clay slopes with little organic matter. The long, narrow inflorescence is somewhat wider in the middle and will nod down slightly when flowering for a month or so in the fall. Solidago nemoralis is one of the shortest Goldenrods, reaching 2′ at most. Other distinguishing features include small winged leaflets on the main stem and fuzzy white texture on the leaves and stem. It tends to bloom later in the fall than other Goldenrods. Solidago nemoralis is also often called Gray Goldenrod or simply Field Goldenrod. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog

2000 Old Field Goldenrod Wildflower Seeds – Everwilde Farms Mylar Seed Packet

XL Mylar Packet – Old Field Goldenrod SeedsGold Vault Mylar Zip Packet Contrary to popular belief, this plant does not cause summer hay fever but simply happens to bloom at the same time as ragweed. Native Americans and early settlers often used this plant for healing purposes, as well as creating a strong yellow dye from its blossoms. Because of its common availability, inventor Thomas Edison harvested the natural rubber in the leaves of the plant to create an acceptable substitute for synthetic rubber. The genus name “Solidago” comes from the Latin words for “to make whole,” referring to the plant’s medicinal properties. Direct sow in late fall, pressing into the surface of the soil since this plant needs light to germinate. For spring planting, mix the seeds with moist sand and store in the refrigerator for 60 days before planting. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination. These seeds are non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms), and are also free from all Neonicotinoids. They are packaged in our superb Gold Mylar Mylar Zip Packaging, which gives the seeds the best storage possible, and allows you to reseal the bag for later use.
