300 Organic Herb Purslane Seeds Edible Portulaca Oleraceous Culinary Medicinal Fresh purslane seeds harvested in July 2024 Organically Grown in USA. Germination 80% or better. We purchased non-GMO seeds and grown them Naturally Open-Pollinated. We do not carry any GMO or altered seeds. This purslane is a drought tolerant succulent with thick purple red stems and green leaves. It produces yellow flowers. It can grow in any soil and grow fast in hot weather. It is edible as vegetable, low in calories and fats, nutritious. Other Name: Pigweed, Pursley, etc Light: Full sun. Germination Temperature: 70F - 90F Prepare the site: Pick a sunny site with fertile well-drained soil, add a generous amount of organic soil conditioner and some slow-release fertilizer into the soil, mix them with a garden fork. Seed Sowing: Dig to make the soil porous, then sow the seed on the surface of the soil. Do not cover the seed with soil, because it need light to germinate. Water it with care ever day in morning and in the evening. Days To Germination: 10 - 15 days. Seeds require a period of cold stratification to break their dormancy and jump-start the germination process. Normally, the seeds receive this stratification as they are left to overwinter out of doors. Because your forced-germination process is on a schedule that differs from the natural cycle, you must re-create the chillness period. Store the seeds in a fridge.
