Thin plants to 10 cm (4") and keep very well watered.PlantWatercress thrives in cold running water along streambanks in temperate zones. Can also be grown in moist soil with a little shade in the garden or in containers.watercress is practical on both a large-scale and a garden-scale. Being semi-aquatic, watercress is well-suited to hydroponic cultivation, thriving best in water that is slightly alkaline. Watercress does not thrive in acidic soil, so spread enough lime in the growing area to bring the pH as close to 7.0 as possible.
