Digitalis purpurea is a Biennial in the Caryophyllaceae family. It is commonly known as Foxglove, Purple Foxglove, or Common Foxglove. Native in Western Europe, including Britain, from Norway to Spain and Sardinia. Growing to 4 feet by 2 feet at a medium rate and flowering from June to September. The species is pollinated by Bees and is noted for attracting wildlife. It can grow in semi-shade or no shade. It prefers dry or moist soil. Hardiness Zone 4-8 Germination Sow seeds the thickness of the seeds on top of the medium and lightly cover. Cover seeds and keep moist in a DARK spot. Remove cover after germination and keep temperatures around 65-70F.
