English plantain is a pretty little herb with sward shaped leaves, all growing out from the base of the plant. in summer long stems reach up 6" to 16" high. The unusual flowers have a brown, 'cone-like' center surrounded by rows of white stamens. English plantain is gentile soothing expectorant used for irritated coughs and mild bronchitis, an anti inflammatory for wounds, inflamed skin or dermatitis and insect bites.it is very easy to grow. they will grow in a wide variety of soils and climate. perennial hardy Zone: 4-9 Sun: full sun to part shade Water: regular Soil: rich ,well draining soil and will also do well in dry poor soils.
