Florida Dogwood Cornus florida 5 Seeds Chill Hill Farms The Dogwood is one of our favorite trees and we knew they just had to be planted all over the farm. As we started clearing here and there we noticed native dogwood trees were already here! Although concentrated mainly on the North-East slope of the hill, they are just peppered everywhere. The flowers are so beautiful in the early spring-time and smell wonderful too. We plant our Spring gardens when the Dogwood blooms, not a day before! It's the sure sign that Spring is here to stay and 'almost' all nights of freezing temps are behind you. Florida Dogwood loves to grow in our sandy acidic soil under the slight shade of Long-Leaf Pine trees. Lots of folks lost their larger Pines in Hurricane Michael and the Dogwoods didn't do well without their shade. Many Dogwoods perished the next year after. Our dogwood trees are just beautiful! We even have several in the middle of our larger main garden bed. The red berries were just covering the trees in Fall and we couldn't help but collect a few for you! These seeds have been cleaned from the berry and are stored in refrigeration until you order.
