UP FOR SALE IS Orange milkweed, Asclepias tuberosa, Butterfly weed. 100 seeds.this is the famous orange milkweed species native from Canada to Mexico. it is one of our great American native flowers with a rich history.the brilliant orange flowers light up meadows, and of course, visits by butterflies abounds.this milkweed grows well in poor dry and rocky soil as well as garden soil, making them an easy wildflower to grow. once they get going, they almost take care of themselves.they are poisonous if eaten in large quantities.the seeds need to be stratified, (go thru a cold period) before they will sprout. plant outdoors in fall or early winter for spring germination or put them in your fridge for a month or more till you are ready to plant. plant seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date. perennial hardy Zone: 3-8 Sun: full sun Water: regular to low Soil: rich, well-draining soil and will also do well in dry poor soils.
