The pretty leaves are finely dissected, light-green and edible, so are the flowers and seeds. The leaves make a nice replacement for lettuce, the seeds are said to have a mild nutty flavor and the flowers have a mild flavor that garnishes a salad or other dish very nicely. The seeds are harvested for perfume. Musk mallow is a very low maintenance plant that will grow in any soil moist or dryish, in full sun or part shade and they will reseed readily for future flowers making them great for naturalizing.
