Tom Thumb' Balsam is an dwarf annual flower that grows up to 14 inches tall. It will bloom with large, double blossoms in rose, salmon, white, violet and scarlet colors. The plants like mostly shaded areas. It is good for container planting or borders, and it will attract bees, hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden. Pinch back young plants to encourage it to bush out for a fuller look. Plants started indoors will bloom early summer. The plants started outdoors will bloom mid to late summer until frost. Plant the seeds by barely covering with soil and keep moist until the seedlings appear. After the plants are established, and begin to bloom, keep the soil slightly moist. Deadheading the plant will produce more blooms. 35 seeds per pkt.
