Aeonium

Aeoniums are striking succulents known for their sculptural rosettes of waxy, spoon-shaped leaves that grow atop branching stems. Ranging in colors from vivid green to deep purple-black, these plants bring a bold, geometric look to succulent arrangements, containers, and xeriscapes. Some species form tight ground-hugging clusters, while others grow tall and tree-like, making them versatile showpieces indoors or out.
Native to the Canary Islands and North Africa, Aeoniums thrive in mild climates with bright, indirect light and well-draining soil. Unlike many succulents, they prefer slightly cooler temperatures and more frequent watering during their active growing season (typically fall through spring). Their unique growth cycle, minimal maintenance needs, and striking structure make them a favorite among collectors and design-savvy plant lovers. With proper care, mature plants may also produce tall, conical clusters of yellow or white star-shaped flowers.
